Kim Fields is an American actress and TV director who is well known for starring in The Facts of Life as Dorothy “Tootie” Ramsey, in Living Single as Regine Hunter. Also, she is recognized for being the daughter of actress Chip Fields.

She was born Kim Victoria Fields on May 12, 1969, in New York City, New York, USA to mother Chip Fields, an actress, and father Tony Fields.

She grew up along with her younger sister Alexis Fields, who is also an actress. After her parents divorced, her mother went on to marry Erv Hurd, a technical director.

Kim graduated from Burbank High School in 1986 and then attended the Pepperdine University. She graduated in 1990 with a degree in telecommunications.

She is of African-American and African-Jamaican ethnicity and holds American citizenship.

She portrayed guest appearances in TV movies Have I Got a Christmas for You from 1977 to 1999 and TV series Baby, I’m Back (1978), Good Times (1978-1979), Diff’rent Strokes (1979-1981), Roots: The Next Generations (1976).

She appeared in the sitcom The Facts of Life as Dorothy ‘Tootie’ Ramsey in 1979 in which she portrayed the character until 1988, for a total of 202 episodes.

Her other notable films include includes Martin (1992), Living Single (1993-1998) as Regine Hunter, Kenan & Kel (1997), One on One (2004), Monster Mutt (2010), The Real Housewives of Atlanta (2015), Living the Dream (2017-present) as Rhoda, Cobra Kai (2019) as Sandra, You Light Up My Christmas (2019).

In addition, she has directed some episodes of Living Single, Kenan & Kel, Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, Let’s Stay Together.

Furthermore, she has a production company Victory Entertainment and Atlanta based organic coffee and beverage brand Signature Blends by Kim Fields (SBKF), which was launched in 2017.
