Marina Squerciati is an American actress. She is best known as a series regular on the NBC drama Chicago P.D. as Officer Kim Burgess. She has also made appearances in 8 episodes of Gossip Girl and guest-starred as a Russian spy in The Americans.
Marina was born on the 30th of April 1984 in New York City, USA. She is the daughter of Rodger Squerciati, a judge and a professor of law at the University of California. His wife Paula, a beautician and a fashion critique. Marina spent her first six years in Mississippi with her grandparents, after which she moved to Los Angeles, where she lived with her parents.

Marina was educated at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, and after matriculation entered Northwestern University, graduating with a BA degree in Theater. Furthermore, she learned ballet at The School of The America Ballet.
Originally a child actress, Marina featured in the musical “The Nutcracker”, in which she portrayed Mouse/Polichinelle. However, after that she became more focused on education and returned to acting only in 2009, first with a minor role in the TV series “Law & Order: Criminal Intent”, and then with the role of Melanie in the highly-acclaimed romantic comedy film “It’s Complicated”, starring Meryl Streep, Steve Martin, and Alec Baldwin.
Two years later, she secured the guest-starring role of Alessandra Steele in the TV series “Gossip Girl” (2011-2012), which increased her popularity, and after that, she secured several film roles, such as that of Dr. Sara Bella in the comedy film “Alter Egos” (2012), and as Dawn in the action film “Sparks” in 2013.
Marina was becoming more popular, and it was in 2014 that she reached prominence, first with the role in the highly popular TV drama series “Chicago Fire”, and then in its spin-off “Chicago P.D.” playing Kim Burgess in both series. She has appeared in over 115 episodes of the “Chicago P.D.” series, which boosted both her popularity and wealth.
Furthermore, Marina featured in the thriller-horror film “Central Park” in 2017, and had a support role in the biopic “Marshall”, about crusading lawyer Thurgood Marshall, who would become the first African-American Supreme Court Justice.
She received the prestigious ‘Agnes Moorehead Award’ for her performance as Judy Holliday in the off-Broadway play Just in Time.
