Sunmi, also known as Lee Sun-mi, is a South Korean singer and musician. She rose to prominence as a member of the South Korean girl group Wonder Grils until departing in 2010. Sunmi began her solo career in August 2013 with the release of her expanded play Full Moon, which produced the number two singles on the South Korean Digital Chart, “24 Hours” and “Full Moon.”

The girls made their debut with the single Irony on February 10, 2007. Sunmi was unveiled as the Wonder Girls’ fourth member in May 2006, prior to their debut.

Sunmi also took part in Wonder Girls activities in the United States. Mimi was her stage name when she traveled with the Jonas Brothers. The teenage vocalist, however, quit Wonder Girls in 2010 to pursue a career in academia. The singer continued to complete her scheduled activities until February of the same year, despite the fact that the news was released in January of that year.

Sunmi returned as a soloist after a three-year break. With the 2013 EP Full Moon, she made her solo debut. 24 Hours and Full Moon, both #2 hits on the national Gaon Digital Chart, were included on this EP.

Sunmi rejoined Wonder Girls in 2015 for the group’s promotional efforts. She was a member of her band till it disbanded in 2017. After leaving JYP Entertainment, the singer joined MAKEUS Entertainment. She signed a contract with this company, which is now known as ABYSS Company, on March 14, 2017.

Sunmi has also appeared in cameo roles in TV dramas such as The Producers (2015), YG Future Strategy Office (2018), and XX (2020). The singer has also starred in reality series such as Fashion King Korea (as a contestant in 2014), Secret Unnie (as a cast member in 2018), and Running Girls (as a cast member in 2020). Sunmi will also co-host the Youtube show RReal World with her two brothers in 2020.
