The interview with Yee, which has quite 2 million views on YouTube, had been the primary one for a while, he admitted to her. While promoting his new music, also as his docuseries, state of emergency: the increase of August Alsina, he was able to come clean—about everything.

Early struggles

In a 2013 interview with Complex, Alsina, who was born in New Orleans, said that both his father and his stepfather struggled with white plague — which his mother “used to figure two jobs to require care” of him and his siblings.

Although Alsina started a YouTube account when he was 14, which featured his music, he didn’t get serious about his career until after the death of his brother Melvin LaBranch III, who was fatally shot in 2010, shortly before Alsina’s 18th birthday, consistent with VH1.

August Alsina is behind these hit songs.

Alsina’s music—a blend of sultry R&B and rap—first started climbing charts for R&B and Hip-Hop around 2013. His top tracks include No Love, I Luv This S***, Kissin’ On My Tattoos, Numb (Bonus Track), and Song Cry. Singer Alsina released his third album the merchandise III: State of an Emergency fortnight ago, just days before his explosive interview aired.

In 2018, he opened on Red conversation about his health issues.

In 2014, while working at a replacement York show, Alsina collapsed mid-performance and, consistent with TMZ, had seizures that were caused by exhaustion and dehydration. In an Instagram post, which has now been deleted, the singer later reports revealed that following his health scare he was put into a coma for 3 days, Billboard wrote.

The next year, in an interview with Billboard, the singer shared that he had a degenerative disease and was going blind. “So repeatedly we take things like eyesight without any consideration cause it is so natural. We awaken and that we see, we awaken and that we walk. Public Health Scares

Then, two years ago, during an episode of the Red conversation with Jada Pinkett Smith (no, not that episode). He opened about his other health issues, including liver complications that stemmed from an autoimmune disorder. The pain from these predicaments ultimately led him to become hooked into opioids, including Percocet, he explained, though it took him time to acknowledge the matter.

“My stepfather was hooked in to crack, my father was hooked in to crack and alcohol, so my introduction to drugs was that. And seeing my stepfather pawn the entire house for a few drugs, pawn the car, whatever, and my idea of addiction was that. I might see him sweating, shaking, and really having to urge his life back, and that I went through that have thought I had it in check .”

In fact, Alsina credited the Smiths with helping him “walk faraway from drugs.” He said it had been call from Jada that offered an epiphany. “To feel your emotion,” he told her on Red conversation, “and hear you balling, that was really a reality check on behalf of me ’cause I used to be like ‘wow if somebody else can really love you that much that it hurts them, why doesn’t it bother you that you’re actually hurt yourself? ‘”

He became “entangled” with Jada Pinkett Smith around 2016.

Alsina was introduced to the Smith family by their son, Jaden, he said within the Breakfast Club interview. Initially, the Smiths were helping him while he was battling addiction. When Jada and can separated, August Alsina relationship with Jada evolved.

While the small print of their relationship remains a touch obscure, he recently said that he harbored real feelings for her.
