Sam Hennings started his professional acting career in 1984 by making a debut on the ABC series Moonlighting (pilot episode). He also appeared in several TV guest-starring roles including Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Dallas, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Hunter.

In 1991, Hennings appeared as a hard-nosed, Texas sheriff in the 1960s era film Shout. In 1992-93, Sam featured in the Television series, Secrets and NBC’sTrade Winds.
