In 1997, Geoffrey graduated from Burncoat High School. After that, he obtained a degree in economics from Worcester State University. He also earned an associate degree from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde park, New York. After graduation, he migrated to France to work as a Chef.

Geoffrey Zakarian: Professional Life and Career

Geoffrey started his career by working under Chef Daniel Boulud at Le Cirque, where he was named “Chef de Cuisine” from 1982 to 1987. In 1990, he became the executive chef at a restaurant 44. Similarly, he became the executive chef at Patroon in Manhattan in 1998.

During 2000, he worked in a renowned French chef at the three-Michelin-star restaurant Arpège in Paris.

He also worked as a judge along with restaurateurs Aaron Sanchez, Scott Conant, Marc Murphy, Amanda Freitag and Chris Santo on Food Network’s Chopped series.

In December 2011, Zakarian was named the winner of The Next Iron Chef. He also hosted the Food Network’s series The Kitchen. He also featured on Cutthroat Kitchen as a Judge.

In 2016, he started hosting the Food Network series Cooks vs. Cons.
